This magnificent modern masterpiece, designed by renowned Sutton Suzuki Architects, is the ultimate Tiburon abode. The home, with its modern, yet warm design, born of limestone and Brazilian cherry, and dressed with the finest finishes, perches atop the sun-drenched southern tip of the Tiburon peninsula. Vast 280 degree views of the San Francisco Bay, the City, and the Golden Gate Bridge are visible from virtually every room in the house. Extraordinary details abound, including a mesmerizing room-size reflecting pool within the house walls, a mahogany-clad elevator, an outdoor infinity spa, and smart home technology. Award-winning schools, easy access to Tiburon’s charming shops and restaurants, and the ultimate commute to San Francisco by ferry combine to make this a 21st century dream house.

Experience 1925 Straits View Drive:

A stone driveway leads to a gated entry, which opens onto a pristine landscape for multiple cars and an attached two-car garage. The entrance to the house reveals a dramatic two-story foyer with an artfully curving stairway to the main living level above. On this lower level is the guest bedroom with a spa-style en suite bath, the laundry room, an exercise room, a temperature-controlled wine cellar, and a wood-paneled elevator to the main living area above.

At the top of the stairs to the east lies the airy kitchen, family room, and casual dining room. The kitchen is centered around a large granite island with a sink and multiple drawers. Top-of-the-line appliances include a Sub-Zero refrigerator, two Wolf ovens, a Thermador warming drawer, a Miele dishwasher, and a Jenn-Air compactor. French doors lead from the kitchen to the back lawn and patio with grand views of the East Bay and Angel Island. Off the kitchen is a walk-in pantry and, beyond, the powder room and a short hallway to the great room.

The casual dining area adjacent to the kitchen has French doors to the front patio and lawn, and panoramic views from the East Bay and Angel Island, to virtually all of the northern stretch of San Francisco, to the Golden Gate Bridge and the Marin Headlands. The family room that completes this wing of the house shares these sweeping views. The wall adjacent to the windows features a dramatic long, linear gas fireplace with a large built-in TV above it.

The great room is at the center of the house. It contains a formal dining area and living room that appear to float above the San Francisco Bay. Huge windows and French doors along the southern wall frame utterly magnificent views of Angel Island and the city of San Francisco, from the high rises downtown, past the residential streets of the Marina and Pacific Heights, to the Palace of fine Arts, the Presidio, and the full span of the Golden Gate Bridge. Views continue across the bridge to the Marin Headlands and the southern half of Belvedere Island.

The western wall of the living room consists of a stunning rough-hewn, two-toned limestone. The northern wall is entirely glass, overlooking a reflecting pool and the stone walls of the back wing of the house. A hallway runs parallel to the reflecting pool, with glass on one side and built-in shelving opposite, followed by a wall of glass revealing the hillside along the northern boundary of the property.

Past the reflecting pool is the first of three bedrooms on this level. The first and second are graciously appointed with recessed lighting, sumptuous Brazilian cherry closets, en suite baths, and access to the back lawn and patio with a custom fire pit and views of Tiburon’s open space and the East Bay.

At the end of the hallway, the master bedroom is a true sanctuary. While completely private, it offers sweeping views from the bedroom and bath, overlooking San Francisco, Angel Island, and the East Bay. A huge, walk-in closet is adjacent to the spacious master bath, which features a steam room, a two-person, double-headed shower, and a free-standing tub. French doors lead from the master bedroom to a private stone patio embedded with fossilized ferns and a blue mosaic infinity spa.

Perched on top of the southern tip of the Tiburon Peninsula, this exquisite home is one of the finest examples of modern architecture ever built. It is the ultimate manifestation of the indoor/outdoor lifestyle that Marin is famous for.
